![]() We were honored to welcome home CPL Michael Guardino for a second time, from his second tour of duty. This time it was from Afghanistan. Michael gave us positive feedback on accomplishments that were happening there.
![]() He was greeted at the oasis by a flagline and many well wishers. The weather was nice and drew about 30 bikes and 6 cages. We were escorted to a party being held in his honor by the Elk Grove Village Motorcycle Police. When we reached our destination, we were all in awe over the large flag that was flying from the Elk Grove Village Fire Department ladder truck. It was a sight that brought tears to many eyes.
![]() We presented our hero with honor beads and coin, had him sign the banner and took many pictures. We wished him well, and left him to spend time with family and friends.

At the request of the family of William “Snake” Robert Delozier 18 people, 12 bikes, 1 trike and 2 cages arrived at Southerland Funeral Home on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 2:30 PM. WWR tolled the bell and stood a flag line to honor Mr. Delozier for his service to our country. He was a Marine Corp veteran that served from 1965-1968 and was a Vietnam Veteran. Mr. Delozier continued serving with the New Jersey State Police. He was another HERO who served his country well. Rest in Peace, Snake..
2nd Annual Flag Day party with the seniors!!
Contact was made with our friends at Atherton Place, ( a senior citizen apartment.) asking if they would like for us to come again this year for Flag Day. Last years visit was such a success, that they jumped at our offer. So the Ga. WWR family went into action planning this year’s visit.
Last year we had 6 bikes & one cage. We did not know what to expect as we headed there from the staging with our two car, Marietta PD escort. One of our family was heard to say, ‘ holy shit! What are we going to do!! There were about 50 people in the main area when we arrived. All went well enough that we also went there last year with Mr. & Mrs. Claus.
Now to tell about this year’s fun! We ended up with 17 or 18 bikes this year & once again one cage. We only had a one car LEO escort this year. It was still a good one. After all we only road about three blocks from the staging area to Atherton Place. We had the engines revving & horns a blowing when we pulled up at the front entrance. In other words we were raising some HELL for them. Just as last year they loved our entrance.
We all went in & started mingling with the residents, ( about 60 this year), who were in the main area. Small American flags, flag pins, & American flag spinners were handed out. After a bit of socializing Hippie called things to attention. A story of how Flag Day got started was read. Then some special emails from a few of our out of state WWR family were read by CarrieAnn. Then Bobby presented a certificate of thanks from the WWR to veterans who work at Atherton to a security guard who was a Navy vet. Last year we did so to the residents. This year we thought it would be nice to acknowledge the staff. Then we sang a couple of patriotic songs. When we sang “God Bless America” most of the residents proudly stood up.
After all of that, we still were not do having fun. We invited them to come outside where the bikes were parked. Pictures were taken of those who wanted to sitting against or on the bikes. We would hold the flags on the bikes up as if they were flying behind them as a patriotic backdrop for the pictures. Couple of them even got to ride around the parking lot on a trike that was with us.
The funniest thing was seeing that one of the residents had talked Snappy out of one of his flags off his bike. He had it folded & stuffed under his arm, as if he were protecting a prized possession.
As we mounted up & got ready to leave, they asked if we would make a couple of LOUD parade laps as we left. That was to good of an opportunity to show off, to pass up. So we did as asked.
The WWR family had so much fun they can’t wait to go back. The staff at Atherton has asked if we can come back again this summer. So it sounds like we will be going back again before our Christmas visit.
What an honor it is to be able to have so much fun with our nations seniors. As with most of the things the WWR does around this great nation, it is hard to tell who was the most blessed. Those we are there to serve or us!!

The Hero and his family, was pick up, by a stretch limo at his house, within hours of returning home from Fort Campbell. Due to the very narrow street he lives on, the Limo was escorted, from his house, By Kingston Police Dept. to a “staging point” approx. A half mile away. Here the escort grew to 12 Bikes, 1 trike, the Ulster County Sheriff Dept, Kingston Fire Dept, and the Town of Ulster Police Dept. We then continued the trip to the host restaurant. ” Christina’s” Approx. 2 miles away. (NOTE All major intersections on the route were protected by saluting officers of three different LEO) Here, the hero was greeted by the color guard from the local American Legion post 150, and the VFW Joyce-sherrick post.
The Kingston Fire Dept. Ulster Hose Fire Dept., the local TV station, and about 100 patriotic Americans, waving Flags, and giving thanks. Once at the restaurant, Sgt. Kolbinski, was presented with a “Thank You plaque” from Our sister organization “A Hero’s Welcome” by Vince Auletta. And I presented him with a Coin from WWR and thanked him for his service. Sgt. Kolbinski was completely surprised by this event, and as can be seen in the photos, overwhelmed, by it.
I would like to personally thank everyone who helped make this possible, since EVERYTHING was donated free of charge! Dinner, limo, LEO,FD, etc.

WOW! I seemed to say that alot on Saturday May 28th, 2011. This was a very special day for a very special young man. On this, the start of the Memorial Day Weekend, Warriors Watch Riders welcomed home a Hero…Lance Corporal Patrick Smith. This young man is a third generation Marine…OOH RAH! Not only is his father a Marine, but he is a Philadelphia Fireman. We were able to surprise his Dad with a welcome home presentation by A Hero’s Welcome and a coining at FB69. This family is very patriotic and responsible for a lot of generations of our FREEDOMS. I am sure that Patrick’s grandfather ( who landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day and fought in the Battle of the Bulge ) looked down on this young Marine, as he so humbly stood on his front yard in Philadelphia, and ,”thanked the veterans of the Vietnam War for their sacrifices, because they had it much harder then we have it now.” This young man told the gathered masses that he and all of the service men and women still believe they are making a difference and are fighting for the right cause. He also mentioned the fact that they GOT the guy who was behind the Taliban strikes on 911. The crowd erupted in cheers and hollers. We all mugged and hugged Patrick as he stood on the lawn ready to celebrate a welcome home with family, friends and neighbors. Thank you to the Phila Traffic Police for there escort from PHL to the families home. Thanks to Channels 3 and 6 for their coverage of the Message. Also to the 60 bikes and 9 cages that came out on this beautiful Saturday…Thank You from the Smith Family and from me…You will never let me down.
Just a side note: We coined a Navy Vet at FB69..one of the Firemen. And while waiting at the airport, we coined a WWII Vet.
So, counting Pat’s Dad…That makes a fourfer ( 4fer )!
What a great day. Hey Patrick…Happy 20th Birthday and See ya on the road!

Well, it turned out great! We were privileged to welcome home LCPL Nathan Mullins. He just returned from a deployment in Afghanistan. We were honored to return to this family’s home, as we’d just been here in April to welcome home Nathan’s sister. As it turns out, the entire family has served… Mom and Dad, too!
It was our privilege and honor to be able to Welcome Home LCPL Nathan Mullins. Thank You, Nathan!
At first, we were wondering how the day would turn out… rain, then more rain and wind, and thunderstorms en route. About 2 pm the weather cleared… awesome. No rain. (Of course, knowing the dedication of our WWR members, we knew that no measly rain was going to stop us anyway!)
We met at the Firehouse in Poplar Grove. One member rode 90 miles one way, rain included. Wow. That’s an inspiration.
The family was there for a BBQ, and we showed up to surprise Nathan. What an honorable and truly appreciative Marine!
All in all, it turned out great. The local news Channel 13 WREX showed up, and did a great, positive interview!
Thanks Nathan!

At 0900 a flag line was formed at the entrance to Queen of the Universe church in Levittown, PA. The appreciation of family and friends was noted as they entered for the services. 1100 we departed for Washington Crossing Veterans Cemetery. With the family tucked safely in our column, we began Bill Liberty’s final journey. 1140 we arrived at the Cemetery and were greeted by staff for the escort to the memorial gazebo. A flag line again was set at the rear of the ceremony. With full military honors Bill’s family looked on as the Air Force Honor Guard performed a flawless flag folding and a gun salute was fired. The Liberty family were very pleased and thankful for our presence. Mrs. Liberty was coined on behalf of a grateful nation.

Warriors Watch Riders and A Heroes Welcome helped 14 WWII veterans celebrate Armed Forces Day 2011. The groups were invited by Hidden Meadows On The Ridge (Assisted Living Facility) in Sellersville, PA. Our own Tamale’s father, who is a resident of the facility, and the other veterans were very impressed by the WWR and AHW display of patriotism and gratitude to their service for our country.
There were approximately 20 motorcycles and 5 cages that participated in our famous mug-n-hug ceremony. The residents were all sitting outdoors in the front of the facility when we came roaring up with exhaust notes loud and horns blaring. Those of the residents who could stand, did so and applauded our entrance. We recited the Pledge of Allegiance, observed a moment of silence for our fallen heroes and thanked each other for sharing Armed Forces Day. WWR then made their coin presentation, A Heroes Welcome made their certificate presentation and then all the veterans and residents got a round of hugs and hand shakes from our illustrious group. Emotions ran high as everyone remembered and celebrated.
Upon leaving, we were asked to make another pass-by with our vehicles. Of course, we could not deny such a request! It’s always fun to show off our stuff a little bit! It was a day all of us will never forget. The weather was beautiful, spirits were high and we left hoping we would get invited back next year.
Respectfully Submitted,
Tamale (Pat)

(SIDE NOTE FROM LUTZ, WWR FOUNDER: I am more proud to post this Ride Report than you can perhaps understand. This wedding was, in every way, a true Warriors’ Watch Wedding (WWW), and I am HONORED that the WWR, as an organizaiton, was so much a part of it.Adam, Nikki, Congratulations! My wish for you is a marriage that lasts a lifetime, that you find in each other not only love but true, life-long friendship. That’s the best kind of marriage, I think. To the Father-In-Law, Auggie, you must be very proud. To he who performed the Ceremony, Circuit Rider, you’re duties are expanding! To all of Northern Illinois WWR: My heart is in Philadelphia, but otherwise it would be with y’all.)
Our very own Adam Laurich (a founding N.IL member and currently a 1LT in Army National Guard) was escorted by his soon to be Father in Law- Rich “Auggie” Augustyn for a wedding one would not forget.
10 Bikes staged at the Glendale Heights VFW, to find out that they weren’t open, but had plenty of shade was available while waiting for the groom. (oops on Groom/RC Auggie). After Mug and Hugs, Groom jumped on bike, revving, hollering saddle up! Thankfully, he was reminded by the N.IL Coordinator that the post said KSU @ 1015 (oops again!).
Finally off to second staging where linked up with 8 more riders! National Guard coin presentation to all riders in appreciation for escort, then rolled on to Buffalo Rock State Park. (The total route was approx 90 miles. A handful of riders traveled an additional 50-80 miles to make entire ride.)
The DJ blasted entrance music of Low Rider as the escort roared into view. After a few quick refreshments, riders formed a flag line down the path to where the ceremony was to take place. Many attendees were pleased to find that the minister was none other than one of our own “Circuit Rider!!!” WOW what an awesome surprise for all.
Many pictures were taken and all in attendance were treated with a BBQ. Tears were formed during the reading of Fallen Comrade Table by Nikki’s uncle Bruce (Vietnam era Special Forces).
Cheers were formed when the newly weds created a “Unity Grog”. Couldn’t have asked for a better time with better family. God Bless all WWR and God Bless America.

Pvt Shaun Ott, a new recruit for the United States Army, was greeted and well wished on his journey to basic training by 6 cages and 3 bikes. We staged at the Jewel Osco in Carol Stream at 4:40pm on Saturday, May 14th. At 5:00 pm, we then took the less than mile ride to his home to surprise him and his family.
Upon arriving to the house, we hugged and thanked our new hero for stepping up to this call of service. We then proceeded to coin and bead him, which he was overcome with joy.
He was also presented with an Angel Feet Pin by his girlfriend, Samantha and her mother, Warrior’s Watch Member Karen Augustyn, in honor of the passing of their four month old son, Elijah, which was an emotional moment for all those who witnessed.
Our hero signed the Warrior’s watch banner while we thanked Mom, Dad and his brother and sister-in-law.
PvtOtt thanked the Warriors Watch members for “caring enough about him to come out on such a crappy day” [It was a little moist out]. He said he was moved by the fact that someone will always be there for him.
