Ride Report posted for Rich Augustyn “Auggie”

Pvt Shaun Ott, a new recruit for the United States Army, was greeted and well wished on his journey to basic training by 6 cages and 3 bikes. We staged at the Jewel Osco in Carol Stream at 4:40pm on Saturday, May 14th. At 5:00 pm, we then took the less than mile ride to his home to surprise him and his family.

Upon arriving to the house, we hugged and thanked our new hero for stepping up to this call of service. We then proceeded to coin and bead him, which he was overcome with joy.

He was also presented with an Angel Feet Pin by his girlfriend, Samantha and her mother, Warrior’s Watch Member Karen Augustyn, in honor of the passing of their four month old son, Elijah, which was an emotional moment for all those who witnessed.

Our hero signed the Warrior’s watch banner while we thanked Mom, Dad and his brother and sister-in-law.

PvtOtt thanked the Warriors Watch members for “caring enough about him to come out on such a crappy day” [It was a little moist out]. He said he was moved by the fact that someone will always be there for him.
