Ride Report posted for RedBeard

We where asked to help celebrate the life, service and birthday of a Vietnam Vet who’s health was not doing so well.

Our Hero, Olwin “BUSTER” Hayes served in the US ARMY AirBorne Div. during the Vietnam Nam War.

Due to the health of our Hero Buster, he was unable to be far from his home and there for we had to bring the celebration to him. His wife Sue, loved ones and friends and family planned a big party at the JCC camp ground in Medford NJ. And the Warriors Watch was asked to “CRASH IT Biker Style”

As I pulled into the parking lot of rally point at P.F. Changs in Marlton, I was greeted by someone who was smiling and saying…. “and you make 57” , Bikes that is.

I was so proud to be part of this family of patriots.  In this short notice gathering the Warriors Watch Riders brought together 57 bikes and 3 cages to show this Hero how appreciative we are of the service and sacrifice he gave to our Great Country, It was a LONG overdue THANK YOU.

On a Beautiful sunny day with the perfect riding temperature, with our Flags unfurled we paraded our way through the town of Marlton beeping and revving our engines at anyone who could see or hear us. The responses where all the same, peoples hands waving back with a thumbs up and cars flashing their lights and beeping back at us. We moved into the next town of Medford and continued with our display of Patriotic Colors and Honors. We found our was into the wooded entrance of the JCC campgrounds. ( No one thought we would have that many Bikes, therefore no one knew what to do when we completely took over the entrance and its parking lot ) ohh did I mention it was a DIRT entrance ?

No problem though, We had pulled up far enough from Busters location so he would not see us or hear us. We waited there till his wife Sue and Buster where brought outside with all the other on lookers and family. We where given the thumbs up and WHOOOF did the woods and camp come alive with thunder from the Revving of the engines. We made our way, slowly, towards Buster and circled him. There was just enough area for us to keep the line of Bikes going so he got a chance to see EVERY Flag and Patriot, and hear every exhaust that was revving for him.

We parked and gathered our Flags… After giving Buster a “BIKER CHEER” ( don’t ask LOL ) We assisted him onto a near by stage where some 200 plus friends family and loved ones gathered in the seats while the Warriors Watch Riders surrounded him on stage. There was a presentations given to our hero from our close friend Judi Tapper of the Gold Star Moms. Then our very own “Fungi” stepped up and pressed a Magic coin into the palm of this hero. I have to say, knowing Fungi and hearing and watching his actions there, IT showed me again how deep the scars of War can run.

We then formed a line and paraded past this Hero on stage and individually shook his hand and thanked him for his service and sacrifice as we made our way back to our bikes.

It was a beautiful day… physically and spiritually.

Welcome Home and Thank You Olwin “BUSTER” Hayes , for your Service and sacrifices to this Great Country.

Peace
