Submitted for RC Jim Moore, Region 1 Coordinator:
Early on the morning of June 15, 2018, members of NWFL Warriors’ Watch Riders were honored to transport and escort the remains of Airman Dennis A. Belk U.S.A.F. to his final resting place at the Tallahassee National Cemetery from the Heritage Funeral Home in Panama City.
A big thank you to the Sheriffs Deputies from Bay, Jackson and Gadsden counties who provided traffic control along the route.
For the last few years Mr. Belk was a resident at the Clifford C. Sims State Veterans’ Nursing Home in Panama City.
The round trip riding time and distance was 6 hours and just over 300 miles.
En route, the riders were pummeled by scattered down-pouring rain, blinded by brilliant sunshine and hammered by ridiculous humidity.  We were however, all honored and felt privileged to deliver Mr. Belk to his friends and family, gathered to attend the service at the cemetery.
