Ride Report for Ride Captain  Zeus

Approximately fifteen bikers and several cages filled with those eager to welcome home our hero gathered at the McDonalds in Hazlet, NJ. We were accompanied by one of our own John Gilginnon (JGILLIS3) who rode with us in support of his brother Sgt. Kevin Gilgannon. We rode a few miles from there to the China Buffet (one of Kevin’s favorite eateries) and waited outside while our hero finished his dinner.

Sgt Gilgannon exited the restaurant and passed through a flag line and cheers of “Welcome Home!” From there we escorted our hero a few miles back to his home. Kevin’s wife Stacey Gilgannon was presented with the spouse certificate to honor her personal sacrifice and support of her husband. Kevin’s two children Makenzie (5 years old) and Lexi (2 years old) were presented with WWR pins as a small token of appreciation and also to help them remember the occasion. They were all very proud of their husband and father!

The Mayor of Hazlet was present and read a proclamation to Sgt Gilgannon and Kevin was presented with the WWR coin as well. Kevin graciously accepted this and thanked everyone for being there.

A special thank you goes out to Stacy Murphy (Cloud) for all her assistance in the local area, the Red Knights for keeping the procession safe, the Knights Inferno, and the tea party group that all came out to show our hero a warm welcome home! But mostly thank you to John Gilginnon (JGILLIS3) for allowing us to participate in your brother’s welcome home. It was truly an honor.
