Welcome Home SSGT Nicholas Chrabot

This was a last minute mission that was made possible because of the dedication of many people. We met our hero at the Des Plaines Oasis with American flags made possible by JonD and Oscar. Thank you to the WWR members that braved the weather to make this welcome home possible.

A quick round of handshakes and back slaps and we were on our way to Rolling Meadows. Rolling Meadows Fire Department and Police Department led us through the city and past the Kimball Hill elementary school where SSGT Chrabot graduated from many years ago. As we turned the corner at the school we were met by the students and staff who stayed after school was let out to welcome home our hero. The school was notified only a few hours in advance of the welcome home and did an amazing job, thank you to Elizabeth Bratkiv for coordinating. Thanks to Dave Dimeler for the pictures, Pops for the WWR beads and for stalking Nick at the airport to make sure he didn’t take a cab home and everyone else that made this welcome home a success.
