Ride Report posted for Spike
We left early for the ride to San Bruno, home of the 2/23 Marine Reserves,Echo Co.
We got word from the Major that the Busses had left Pendleton at approx. 0500 Hrs.
Some  families started showing up early, and we helped with the decorating.
We mingled with the families and chatted,as they were so excited that their loved ones were almost
there. This is the 2nd of 3 waves coming home. The Silva family came and Mom(Denise)
was so excited. Now a second family showed up that we know from Livermore.Terry
from Callaghens Mortuary, who we do alot of missions for,her stepson was onboard the
bus as well.We had 4 bikes,so we split up in two’s.
The buss’s showed up approx. 1300 hrs.And 25 Marines were ushered to the back to turn in their Records and weapons.
After about an hour, they marched out to their families. What a sight!! Then there was approx. a 45 min. while inventory was done on the weapons.then ,we got the green light to depart.Fred and I escorted 1 family & Rich & Bob escorted the other. What a great day, the family was so charged about the whole Escort home.
