Our Hero, Jason Horner, seems to be one of those quite heroes who just get the job done and doesn’t want a big deal made of it. He completed a tour to Iraq in 2003-2004, and a tour to Afghanistan in 2007-2008. Jason is married to Ginger and currently they live in North Caroline with their two children, Jason Jr. (JJ) and Jared.

Our hero had planned on coming to NJ with his Family to do his R&R. …Nice Quiet Family time HE THOUGHT?. Well His Family knew about the WWR and contacted us to see if we could assist them with giving him a Welcome Home and a Thank You for his service.

I believe we did just that.

We rallied at Fire Base 69 with 16 plus motorcycles. We asked our heroes wife, Ginger to meet us there so we would be able to bring her directly into the terminal parking area. When she arrived at the rally location, their two sons, JJ and Jared where already staring out the windows of the car with big eyes.

( I think it was all the Bandanas that everyone was wearing that gave them an uneasy feeling. ) We welcomed them all to the Warriors Watch Escort with a round of clapping and thank you, then we mounted up to head over to the arrivals terminal “C”.

What happened next is a true testament to the military research and development of technology and stealth materials. While we stood at the bottom of the escalators with 18 people all holding flags and eyes peeled to the individuals coming down the steps and escalators, sizing them up as “FRIEND OR HERO”…. Not to mention the two small children and the wife and the sister who were all standing at the EXIT doors for the Terminal Concord “C”, SOMEHOW This hero slipped by us and was walking around the OTHER TERMINAL looking for his family and calling on the cell phone to his wife asking…”Where are you? ” Well …. ALL I could think is “We have the children, the sister and the wife, THERE is no way he is getting out of this AIRPORT without the famous WWR “MUG AND HUG” !!!! Not on our watch!!!

After a little information was shared we all took off for another baggage claim area and low and behold THERE is our Hero walking right towards us. ( YEP in the NEW and IMPROVED AIRPORT Camouflage fatigues ) We quickly formed a FLAG LINE, which allowed our Hero to walk to his awaiting family within our flags… A beautiful site to see. We all then went outside and waited for our hero and his family to be done sharing that initial one on one time. We mounted up, and when all where ready, proceeded to our heroes destination home in Deptford NJ.

As we pulled into the Driveway, we were welcomed by relatives, family and friends all waving and cheering for our hero. We gathered around Jason and a Magic Coin was pressed to his palm. And again, The WWR gave Jason another Mug and Hug and thanked him for his service.

It is so nice to be able to share these special moments and memories of these Heroes and their Families. What an Honor to be part of such a beautiful and intimate thing as a welcome home celebration between a husband, wife and their children.

To our Hero, Jason Horner, Welcome Home and thank you for your service and dedication to this Great Country. Be Safe with your return and God Bless.

Peace
