Ride Report by Lutz

For the second year the Warriors’ Watch Riders participated in the July 4 parade held in Glenside, Pa. This is a huge parade, one of the largest and oldest in this part of the country. Thousands of people line the 1.5 mile parade route.

The weather was perfect – unlike past years it was not too hot and no threat of rain. About 40 Warriors’ Watch bikers rode in formation with our two heroes, Sgt. Sinead Kelly and Spc. Andrew Trotto as our guests. We sat them in a convertible and escorted that car in front with a motorcycle on each corner, flying the flags of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

Unfortunately we had barely traveled 5 blocks when the convertible overheated. But some quick thinking and we just put our soldiers in the back of the support vehicle that was already in the parade and already flying all flags, and continued on as if nothing had happened.

Halfway through the route we spied another uniformed soldier in the crowd, and we pulled him up into the truck with the others to contine on.

A great day to honor our military – they were so well received by the crowd that they continued to glow long after it was over.

Happy Independance Day!
