Ride Report posted for Tiny

17:55 Ride briefing, 18:15 get to the terminal and set up flag line. 18:00 storm clouds roll in, Yo ksu lets roll. We get to the terminal and the sky opens up, we made it just in time.  Airport PD yells out “go, we have the bikes and cars covered”.  We get to the terminal doors and set up the flag line waiting for 18:30. We get word the plane has landed with one missing detail, IT LANDED IN HARRISBURG, O BOY. Seems they were low on fuel. There’s nothing worse than telling 30+ patriots with flags in there hands they gotta wait. As the storm passes Phila. it hits Harrisburg.  Do I have to say it. I didn’t think so, but I will.  They are delayed again waiting out the storm in Harrisburg.

While waiting we spotted 2 warriors running through with John D hot on their trail bad knee and all.  After catching them 2 magic coins changed hands (nice).  Fast forward to our hero is home and on the ground. The patented mug and hug, and a request to SGT Rice to allow us to escort him home, It would be an honor to be escorted home by the WWR SGT Rice replied.

Out of the airport and over the bridge where Deptford PD picked us up on rt 55.  Into Oak Valley I’m sure waking people up with the LEO sirens, and our horns and the Oak Valley fire dept waiting on us, our hero is home.

The Yellow Ribbon Club waiting for their opportunity to do there thing as well as Col. Bancroft.  Then it is our turn, Thank you Renee for doing the coin presentation.  Also finding out we had 4 more warriors in the crowd of people. Sgt Rices uncle and father in-law are both veterans and two of his neighbors just returned home from Iraq last week.  4 more magic coins changed hands and later finding out Chopper and Cav spotted a warrior on his way out of the airport and got the opportunity to coin him. Overall 8 coins changed hands.

What a great night for the WWR.  I was the RC for this mission and I want to say that RC should mean I’m the one that needs help, because if it wasn’t for everybody pulling together like we do, one person could not get it done. So I want to thank everybody, you know who you are, and you know what you do.  It is truly an honor to be involved with an organization with folks who care as much you do. Thank You everybody Yellow Ribbon Club, A Heros Welcome, Deptford PD Officer Graves who came in on his day off to escort us and the Oak Valley FD for waiting as long as they did and also a special thanks to the Phila. airport PD for allowing us to do what we do.
