Ride Report posted for JohnDelivers

I am in awe of the WWR Family!  Once again the Warriors’ Watch Riders came through for a Real American Hero.  On a weekday, at high noon, about fifteen scoots and a couple of cages met at the Home of the Broad Street Bullies.  Our returning Warrior’s parents Dave and Sherry joined us there and got acquainted with the finest biker scum in the area..

We made the easy ride over to 30th st. Station.  Upon pulling up to the curb at the Station I think the Station personnel had us confused with a Presidential Motorcade.  While our motorcade was no less important, we were not expecting seven cars from Philadelphia’s Finest.  At least a dozen officers from various PD’s were present, PHP, PPD, and Amtrak PD inclusive.

Dave, Sherry and Kurt’s Aunt Liz got escorted down to the platform to await the train.  Word is that when the train pulled in, an Amtrak PD officer who stands about six feet six inches, with our Hero’s family in tow, boarded the train and announced that an American Hero just returning from deployment was on board, and as such, please remain seated until he and his family disembark.  The other passengers on the train were happy to oblige.

A flag line was in place at the top of the escalator.  WWR faithful were eager to give Kurt the Mug & Hug he so deserved.  A loud cheer arose from the entire train station when Kurt appeared.  Many passersby, plus Amtrak employees, all wanted a piece of this Hero too.  It was a sight to behold.

After being swarmed by us, and then interviewed by the media, Kurt emerged from inside and Inspector Boyle said something about needing three minutes to clear it out.  And clear it out he did!  Kudos….make that Super Kudos if there is such a thing… to the PPD.  You had to be there to believe it.  As mentioned earlier, I think there was some confusion and they thought we had the President.  Well it wasn’t the President…but it was someone who was feeling like a Rock Star, if just for one day.

We had clear sailing to the bridge, courtesy of the PPD.  At the bridge the NJSP picked us up and moved us safely to Gloucester Twp.  GTPD and the Chews Fire Company provided the bells and whistles, while we provided the throttles and horns, as we entered our hero’s street.

As usual the Yellow Ribbon Club had their way with every tree and sign post in the area, all adorned with ribbons.  Their band of Patriots, along with neighbors and friends put the finishing touch on a Great Welcome Home.  Colonel Bancroft presented the Camden County Service Medal, the Mayor gave a little speech and said a proclamation was forthcoming, and a Magic Coin made its way into Kurt’s palm.

Thanks go out to the many PD’s involved for making this a great Welcome Home Celebration, also to the Chews FD, the YRC, A-Hero’s Welcome, The American Sheepdogs, and to you…..my brothers and sisters of the WWR.

Kurtis Jinks, thank you for your service and Welcome Home.
