Ride Report for Ride Captain Silverhawk
We had the honor and privilege of being asked by our local CVMA Chapter to escort Marine CPL. David Noblit of Selingsgrove into Milford to attend Vetstock 2013.
What is Vetstock?  Let’s see…Combat Veteran Motorcycle Assn. members (it was also their Regional Meeting for the year), Veterans from WWII up to current conflicts, Patriots who support them, Cowboys and Cowgirls, horses, great bands and music, in short, a weekend long event put together to raise funds for Homes For Our Troops, and specifically for Cpl. Noblit’s new home.  David was on his second deployment when he lost both of his legs above the knees, and suffered severe damage to his left arm in an IED blast in Sangin, Afghanistan on October 21, 2010.
Some of us started out at 6 am and went through Scranton, then to Mifflinville, picking up riders as we went.  Riders from NEPA, ECPA, SEPA and NJ were represented, as well as some members from CVMA, PGR & ALR to name a few.  We met David at a rest stop on Rt. 80, and brought him safely (100 miles) to the American Legion in Milford, where CVMA and Legion members, along with members of the community, including Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops, were there waiting with signs and flags.
After some refreshments, we then escorted David up to the Malibu Ranch where he and his family were honored at opening ceremonies each night before a concert and rodeo, respectively.
What better way to celebrate 4th of July weekend, spending time with, and honoring, those who gave so much to defend our freedom?  An amazing experience!
