Ride Report for Ride Captain HowardK

On Saturday afternoon April 6th Warriors Watch Riders were joined by A Hero’s Welcome to honor and welcome home 1ST Lt. Brian Crosby US ARMY as he celebrated his return from Afghanistan and his dedicated service to our country.

Warriors’ Watch Riders were invited by Brian’s mother and father Bill and Lizanne to escort Brian on the final leg of his return from Afghanistan to a celebration in his honor at a restaurant in Havertown.

Brian is a graduate of Drexel University where he earned a degree in Finance and marketing. He furthered his education and is a graduate of Thomas Cooley Law School and is bar certified in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Brian was a rower for 4 years in high school and 4 years in college. He is also a certified referee for local grade school and high school football.

Brian was met at JFK Airport on Friday April 5th by his father, mother and family. Joining in the JFK welcome were members of A Hero’s Welcome who provided a rousing greeting to our returning veteran. The family, with Brian on board, then proceeded to return him home to Havertown.

Then on Saturday afternoon April 6th the second welcome home commenced. Warriors’ Watch Riders along with A Hero’s Welcome rallied at the Chatham Park School in Havertown. Also awaiting Brian’s arrival were the Havertown Police Department as well as Officers from Upper Darby Police Department. At 12:45 we received a call that the Crosby family was ready for our arrival.

Led by police motorcycles and patrol cars we exited the parking lot and proceeded a short distance to the family home. Standing and cheering in the front yard were many family and friends who had assembled to celebrate the returning veteran.

At the Crosby home we assembled in the front yard as Brian was asked to step forward where he was presented with our WWR Honor coin and thanked for his dedicated service to our country. Maria, representing A Hero’s Welcome, then presented a certificate giving 1ST Lt. Brian Crosby thanks from a grateful nation. WWR member Bob then presented Brian with a star from a retired flag which had flown over a home in America as a reminder that he is not forgotten.

As is our WWR tradition we then formed for a group picture with Brian joined by his very proud family and friends standing behind a Welcome Home banner on the front lawn.

We then formed a procession with police motorcycles and cars leading big flagged bikes and our hero as we escorted family and

friends to a planned celebration at McGillicuddy’s on West Chester Pike.

Warriors’ Watch Riders would like to thank Bill, Lizanne and the entire Crosby family for inviting us to be part of this celebration for Brian. Thank you to A Hero’s Welcome, both the New York and Pennsylvania members, for your energetic and unending support and recognition of our HERO’s. We sincerely appreciate the support of the Havertown Police Department and the Upper Darby Police Department in safely leading our riders and guests.

Most of all, THANK YOU 1ST Lt. Brian Crosby for your service, sacrifice and dedication and for keeping us all free and safe back here at home.

ARMY STRONG!!!!!!!!
