Ride Report for Ride Captain Tim

On 4/26/13 WWR members joined forces with American Legion Post 392 in paying final honors to MM1 (Retired) Jim Lang.  Jim’s wife Flo, and Jim’s brother Kevin sat front row as various traditions, cultures, and practices were all rolled in to a formal service of grand respect for Jim. American flags snapped in the breeze as a bell tolled in the distance; a tradition used to gather the masses.
Old Glory was hoisted as the National Anthem played. Cannon fire initiated the hoist, as well as signaled the lowering of the flag. The flag was recovered and respectfully presented to Mark Cucchi who spearheaded a team of heavy, yet proud hearts, who served as detail, each rendering a hand salute as they passed the flag along, while PT Moore read  “The Watch’ . A plaque presentation by Commander Joey Volpi along with the flag by Sue Cucchi to Flo and brother Kevin initiated the beginning of the end of formal honors. A three volley Salute, followed by the playing of Taps concluded the service. All in attendance were invited to participate in a Celebration of Life which immediately followed the service. R.I.P MM1 Lang, you will be missed.
A special recognition to all Patriots that served as Honor Detail. A true demonstration of the term strength in numbers. There is nothing that cannot be accomplished when we come together as one. Thanks to American Legion Post 392 for hosting, and allowing the Warriors Watch Riders to take part in this unfortunate, yet Honorable event.
