Ride Report for the Ride Captain
It was a cold but sunny Saturday after Thanksgiving – we gathered at a nearby restaurant parking lot – a handful of brave supporters on bikes and the rest of us in our cars and trucks. Palatine Fire brought a big truck, paramedic truck and an SUV. Palatine Police had two squads and an unmarked vehicle. They brought him outside and then we arrived. We arrived in a big, noisy fashion. Yes, he was surprised and a bit overwhelmed – success. His wife, Kelly, was holding their newborn daughter. We did our normal presentation of beads, coin and thread – then had him sign a banner and we were off. Kelly Winke wrote on the N. IL
