Ride Report for Ride Captain Scott Fotre
The Warrior’s Watch Riders were invited by the proud parents of SPC Richard Gilliam III to help Welcome Home this warrior.  It could not have been a more perfect day to meet and greet our hero at a party the family was hosting for Richard.  With Fire Department and LEO support from 2 venues, Bedford Park and Summit, IL, 15 motorcycles and 3 cages went the short distance to the VFW hall where the local Boy Scout Troop, along with Family and friends were outside to greet the Warrior’s Watch Riders upon arrival.  A local TV station, ABC 7 Chicago, was also there to cover the event.  Richard knew about the party, but the WWR was a big surprise.  Richard was returning home from his 2nd deployment in Afghanistan, where he was stationed at FOB Gardez, with the 3rd Battalion (Airborne), 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Div.  Richard was very thankful for all the support from his family and friends and was very appreciative of the support from the WWR.  Richard was presented with a WWR bead set as a reminder of the WWR’s commitment to the Military family.  Richard autographed our Hero’s Banner and thanked us for being a part of the celebration.
In October of 2009 we were there to welcome him back from Basic Training and send him off on his first deployment.  We are very proud to be a part of his second homecoming.  Richard has served his Country well, he is now engaged to Evelyn Castillo and is planning for a career in law enforcement upon his discharge from the Army.  We wish him well in his future endeavors. Welcome Home Richard!  Glad to have you back!
Respectfully,
Scott Fotre
