Ride Report for Ride Captain AeroPilot
Warriors’ Watch was contacted by trip organizer, Mike, from the Lehigh Valley Veterans History Project.  This organization, obtains sponsorship and donations for these bus trips in order to take World War, Korean, and Vietnam veterans to Washington DC and visit the monuments that have been created in their honor, free of charge to them.  The Lehigh Valley Veterans History Project also asks some of these veterans to share their stories during interviews, share photos, and other pieces of history they can offer and then they submit it to the Library Of Congress in an attempt to preserve this slowly diminishing source of history.
The role for the Warriors’ Watch Riders today was to greet these veterans with a welcoming smile, hand shake, and most of all, a sincere “Thank You”, while standing in a Flag Line as they arrived at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem to board their bus.  We formed the flag line to each side of the bus entrance as the guests arrived.  While the majority of the guests were men, there were also women veterans from World War II that were present on todays trip.  In total, 23 World War II Veterans, 1 Korean War Veteran, and their family were on the bus.  A large percentage of those guests also were active servicemen and women, following in their families footsteps.
Once all aboard, we extended our “Thank You” by providing these great heros a motorcycle escort across route 22 thru the Lehigh Valley Area and then onto the Pennsylvania Turnpike, 40 miles south down to Plymouth Meeting.  Upon arriving at Midcounty Interchange, the Warriors’ Watch riders pulled off to the shoulder after the toll booth as the Perkiomen Tour bus continued on their way to Washington DC.  You could see their smiles and waves as they continued.
