Ride Report posted for Dave

We arrived at the rally point to find several of Lcpl Daniels Akers friends waiting to load up and head to the airport. Shortly after, Daniels family arrived, mom, dad, grandmother, brother and sister all chomping at the bit to see their hero. While finalizing my information for the ride briefing I was informed Daniels brother was a Marine also, he served stateside with Marine One. With clear skies and pleasant temps we mounted up for the quick trip to the airport. A flag line was set and the family headed for the jet way. Daniel was greeted with a resounding “Welcome Home” from his family, friends, Warriors Watch Riders and many curious travelers on the concourse.

The ride out to LCpl Akers home town was smooth and without issue, after exiting the highway a local police cruiser picked up the lead and escorted us to the Royersford VFW where a celebration in Daniels honor was to take place. Fire and Police from Upper Providence were on hand to complete the welcome home in true hero fashion.

A Hero’s Welcome presented Daniel with a certificate of appreciation and Daniel was coined in front of all those in the gathering. Daniels brother Brian was coined and welcomed home for his 5 years of service. After group photos were complete we thanked Daniel again for his service and faded into the sunset.
