Ride Report posted for Ride Captain Glen DeVries.
The Warriors Watch Riders had the honor of welcoming home 5 Marines. These young men volunteered to protect our freedom and they deserved every bit of the recognition they received on that day.
These Marines returned after serving a 7 month tour in Afghanistan. They are from different states across the country.
LCPL Michael Giuliano – Illinois
LCPL Jesse Hartness – California
LCPL Zac Vogt – Georgia
LCPL JP Smith – Kansas
LCPL Josh Vogel – Wisconsin
They were picked up at the airport and all rode on motorcycles to the Oasis where they were greeted by a large flagline. We thanked and hugged them and were then led by police to a crowd of family members and well wishers waiting at Wilder Park in Elmhurst, IL. They were presented with beads and coins and the mayor of Elmhurst gave them each a key to the city. The marines signed the banner and pictures were taken. We were then on our way to leave the marines to enjoy the time with their families.
