Ride Report posted for BC

Marine MSgt George ‘Rip’ Masters of Woodstock, GA passed away in Woodstock, GA on December 20th, 2010.  Members of the Georgia and North Carolina WWR family had the honor of standing watch and then escorting this founding member of the Woodstock Marine Corps League and Chaplain to his final duty station on December 23rd.

‘Winger’ – Warriors’ Watch Riders Road Captain for the motorcycle escort from Acworth, GA tries to warm up as preparations are finalized.  One member of the escort, ‘Doc’ had to drop out because of mechanical problems in Holly Springs, GA.  The funeral procession was met by the Warriors’ Watch Riders North Carolina State Coordinator, Bruce ‘BC’ Koehler at the state line, who led the procession to Newell’s Chapel Baptist Church.  All members of the escort are veterans, Winger – a Marine, Doc – a medic, and BC – Air Force.

Marine pallbearers carry Marine MSGT George ‘Rip’ Masters to his final duty station.  Wilbert’s Funeral Director and Newell Chapel’s preacher look on. Friends and family gather.  After the preacher spoke from Isaiah, a special 21-gun salute was given, followed by the haunting strains of Taps.

Friends and family met in the community room, as the Warriors’ Watch Riders disappeared quietly‘in smoke.’

It was our privilege to honor such a beloved and respected veteran.
Bruce ‘BC’ Koehler, MSgt, USAF (retired)
