Ride Report posted for RC Glen DeVries.

Welcome homes are always a wonderful celebration, bringing home our heroes. This one is extra special, because the hero is one of our own. Army SPC Brian Peters is the son of proud WWR members Butch(Night Stalker) and Terri(Cinnamon) Peters.

Brian joined the Army in February of 2008. He received training at Ft. Knox Kentucky and Ft. Benning Georgia before being stationed at Ft. Bragg North Carolina. He was deployed to Afghanistan in August 2009 and returned in August of 2010. On Christmas day of 2009 he was promoted to SPC. While in Afghanistan, he earned his combat badge along with other awards. Brian is back to his base at Ft. Bragg North Carolina where he is working on his Jump Masters badge and will continue on to Ranger training.

The weather was mild and sunny, as we gathered at the staging area. Many bikes and cages came out for this welcome home. The Batavia Fire Department came with 2 ladder trucks and the Police Department brought 4 squads. Butch and Terri arrived with Brian, and slowly pulled through the flagline. Greeted by cheers of Welcome Home and Thank Yous. Brian got out and everyone gave him a hug.

The Police and Fire Departments led the escort to the Batavia VFW, where a party was being held for our Hero. We presented Brian with the copy of the thread, challenge coin and honor beads. Brian signed the Welcome Home Banner and group pictures were taken. Everyone was invited inside for the party where a big spread of food was served. We thank Butch and Terri for feeding us, but most of all we thank Brian for protecting our freedom.
