Ride Report posted for RJ

WWR was honored to be contacted by Terry Owens of The DuPage Veterans Memorial, Inc in Wheaton, IL and asked to participate in their Veterans Day celebration.  The DuPage County Government Center has a permanent memorial to veterans and was making two very important additions to that display to mark this Veterans Day:  A permanent memorial to our Gold Star families and a permanent memorial to SSgt Robert J. Miller, Wheaton’s second Medal of Honor recipient.

Unseasonably warm weather and a great mission brought out WWR in force. We assembled in a parking lot on the DuPage County Government Center Campus and, when signaled paraded at slow speed, with flags waving past the viewing stands, then circling back and taking our places in front of the audience.

We stood at attention for the posting of the colors, listened to a stirring rendition of the National Anthem and participated in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Before the politicos took over, we mounted up and headed, in formation to our next mission, a long overdue welcome home in Villa Park, IL.  It was a great day for patriots, motorcyclists and Americans.

Respectfully submitted,

Bob Abrams “RJ”
