Memorial Day weekend 2010.  Remembering those that gave service to our country. Purple Heart recipient, Ssgt Carl A. Bryant UASF was overdue for a Welcome Home from his tour in Vietnam.  Carl served as a weapons specialist assigned to the 22nd Munitions Maintenance Squadron, Explosive Ordinance Disposal.  Stationed at Udron Royal Thai AFB, Thailand.  He was on a recon mission to disarm an unexploded missle when he was fired on in the helicopter, 1968.  One shot went through the bottom of the chopper and through his leg, a burden he carries to this day.  A leg that does not bend and has schrapnel in his bones.

At the staging area 25 bikes and 4 cages of WWR members and friends assembled.  After the ride brief, the Lisle Police Department assisted us enroute to Carl’s home.  Carl and his daughter were very overwhelmed as the motorcycle procession pulled up to meet them.  Everyone gave Carl a hug and handshake.  Carl said “Thank you very much, I never expected this.”  We presented him with the coins and beads and had him sign our banner.
