Ride Report posted for RC Mark Schmidt

The WWR were invited to stop by a send off party for GM2 Jake Townsend by his wife Elise. Jake was active Navy for four years and served in Bahrain and Kuwait. He is currently in the Navy reserves and recently received orders to be stationed in Kuwait for one year.

Jake is leaving his wife and 1-1/2 old son this summer to serve in Kuwait. WWR wanted to show this young family that we appreciate the sacrifices they are making to keep our country great and free.

Jake was unaware that we would be crashing his party and was the first one out to the street when he heard the sirens and motorcycles comming down the block. We were honored to be able to shake the hand of this hero and let him know he and his family are not forgotten and that his service is appreciated. We presented him with our beads and a copy of the thread with well wishes for a safe return. The family and friends attending were very happy and in awe of all these strangers showing their heartfelt gratitide to this hero. We took some group photos and in parting Jake stated the hardest job is that of a military wife. Jake you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Thank you for what you do.

A special Thank you to the Villa Park Police Department who escorted us safely to the party and made some noise for the neighbors to investigate what was going on.

Godspeed Jake Townsend. We will be awaiting your safe return.
