Ride report posted for Cliff Otto (Ottoman)

It all started on a cold Chicago night at Ohare airport. We surprised
Austin with the help of the USO and the Chicago police. He had no idea
his dad and seven other riders were waiting for him outside the terminal.
We then escorted him with the Chicago police to the DesPlaines Oasis.
A flag line was there with many other riders and cages where he was
given a royal welcome and lots of hugs. We left the oasis on our journey
to his home about an hour away where several police departments joined
the escort. We arrived at his home at about 10:30p.m. where we
rocked the neighborhood.
He received a true Warrior’s welcome with many more hugs and potty
runs. As cold as it got some riders came as far as ninety miles away to
welcome this Marine. This young man and his family are thankful. Even
though I myself am a WWR member and he is my son I still get that great
feeling and the tears in my eyes. WWR rocks and you made my son feel
like a rock star and a hero.
I would have to guess that there were at least 40 WWR members who
came out and made an impression on this young man’s life. I personally
want to thank my WWR family for making this happen along with the USO
and the many police departments. Every soldier who has ever had this kind
of welcome home appreciates it and savors these memories thru the harder
times and all times of service.
WE ROCKED!!! Thank you all from his family and myself!
Welcome home Marine Lance Corporal Austin Otto.
