Ride Report posted for Keith “Chambeaux” Chambers

Saturday was a day of on and off again rain. This did not deter the group and we had a great turnout.

Sargeant First Class Kevin Guyot returned on Thursday with the Woodstock National Guard. Kevin has served for 16 years and this was his 4th deployment. His wife Lynn requested a drive by welcome home for her husband.

Staging was at the local Walgreens. Most of the group rode over together from an earlier mission 20 miles away. Lake Villa PD showed up in force. They were very excited to participate and welcome home our hero. Many thanks to them and Doug Mace (LEO SPOC) for arranging their participation.

Kevin Guyot lives in a nice, quiet neighborhood that we entered with engines, sirens and horns blaring. We drew a great deal of attention and when Lynn heard our noise she brought Kevin outside. There he saw polices cars, motorcycles and cars all pulling up in front of his house. We each thanked him, hugged him and shook his hand. Lynn also received her share of hugs for sacrifices she had to make while her husband was serving our nation. Kevin was presented with a coin, our beads, a printout of his thread and he signed our banner.

The mission was a success of us thanking them and them thanking us. Kevin made a brief speech in which he thanked us for our “trouble”. We let him know that it is us that thank him for his service, sacrifices and dedication.
