SEPA 6/23 H/M Ed Mann Sr. US Navy

Warriors' Watch is saddened to hear of the passing of a WWII vet that we had the pleasure of meeting on his 96th birthday in 2021. We are honored to stand with his family at his memorial service. Edmund T. Mann Sr., age 97, of Harleysville, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022. Edmund was born May 22, 1925.

Below is a Ride Brief posted following his Mug 'n Hug by Rooney2n:
"Saturday, May 22, 2021. Warriors' Watch was honored with a request to show some love for Mr. Ed Mann Sr. on his 96th birthday. With the assistance of both the Upper and Lower Southampton Police departments, as well as the Southampton Fire Department #1, we rolled in and crashed Mr. Mann's party. To say he was surprised would be an understatement. Mr Mann was extremely happy that we would honor him. Ed Mann was drafted right out of high school and after completing basic training in NY, he was sent to the Pacific theater for duty on a PT boat. As we talked he told me his boat never had to fire a torpedo, but they were involved in a "gun boat" capacity as they moved from island to island during the war. When his duty was completed, he thought about re-upping, but he "was afraid my mother would kill me". Ed has had, as he puts it, "a great life, with a great family". This was quite evident by the number of relatives gathered to celebrate this amazing hero. Mr. Mann was presented with our challenge coin and certificate declaring him a beloved hero, a star, birthday gift, warrior beads, and JD presented him with a Combat Veterans coin. When we were done mugging him, Ed told us that he will fondly remember this day for ever. He was so happy with our birthday surprise, he said "this is one of the best birthdays he's ever had". Well Ed, you deserve it, and we were thankful to be allowed to crash your party and make your day that much more special. You are a treasure. Happy Birthday, Thank You for your service, and WELCOME HOME!"

Now it is time that WWR give our final memorial to this gentleman from the "Greatest Generation". Our hearts are with his family and friends.
