SEPA 5/2 H/M James Bayer US ARMY

WWR has been invited, by our old State Coordinator, MacBoys, to honor his friend. Mac will not be returning to Philly from sunny Florida for this event.

James “Mister Bayer” Bayer was born in Philadelphia PA May 23, 1935. He graduated from Northeast Catholic High School. He enlisted in the US Army and served in Korea in 1952 and 1953. After his military service and training he began his career in the trucking industry. Starting as an apprentice Heavy Truck/ Diesel Technician. He flourished in his industry rising to the ranks of Master Diesel Technician and Fleet Manager for Elgin Trucking in Philadelphia PA. In the early 1970’s he launched his own trucking company that he owned and operated until his retirement. Sport was an ever-present part of his life. He was was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He encouraged and supported all his children in athletics and team sports. He was a driving force that established Title 9 into law in 1972 which ensured girls the equal opportunity to play sports from elementary to university level.
His relationship with “The Blue Angels” women’s softball team of Warminster, PA as coach and head cheerleader brought him great joy for over 60 years with numerous award winning seasons.
