TSgt Christopher J. Williams returned home earlier this January after serving a year tour with the 36th Mission Support group detachment 1 out of Diego Garcia (literally a speck in the middle of the Indian Ocean. The closest support base to our missions in the Middle East).
Chris is an Atco native who was blessed to be able to return to Atco and has spent the last 9 years raising his children with his wife Ali in his hometown.
During this year tour he participated in many Air Force missions (a lot of these missions were top secret) and received the Meritorious Service Medal, Presidential Volunteer Service Award and Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
Chris has been in the Air Force for 17 years as of February and continues his service out of McGuire AFB where he is a part of the 818 MSAS where he travels to different countries in Africa to offering mission support in addition to training the African Air Force members.
In his free time, you will catch Chris in the gym and running his children to and from sports and games. In the free time he does get he literally lives at citizens bank park over the summer and never misses an Eagle Sunday.
