SEPA 2/29-A H/M James Hartman, US NAVY

Warriors' Watch has been asked to hold a flag line honoring a US NAVY veteran and WCNC Cemetery Guardian. This veteran is cousin to a WWR SNJ ASC PaulieB and cousin to former State Rep. Tom Murt.

James Earl “Jim” Hartman, 74, of North Wales, passed away January 10, 2024, surrounded by his family. The NAVY brat lived on military bases around the country until settling in Hatboro, PA. Jim is a graduate of Archbishop Wood. He was also an avid drummer, a member of the band, and remained active in alumni activities.

Jim proudly served with the United States Navy Construction Battalions, more commonly known as Seabees, from 1968 to 1974. He loved being a Seabee and carried the “Can Do” motto and attitude throughout his life. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, Jim worked in the automotive industry as an auto mechanic, service advisor, service manager, and director of fixed operations. Working his way through the ranks, he became an industry-wide innovator and leader. The majority of his career was with Fred Beans Ford in Doylestown, where he began as a service advisor and finished as a corporate service director responsible for strategic and tactical planning and implementation of business plans for 20 new dealerships. He ended his career as Director of Fixed operations at Chapman Automotive Group responsible for 10 dealerships.

Upon his retirement in 2014, Jim volunteered and proudly served with The Guardians of the National Cemetery at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. He, along with his brothers and sisters, served on the Honor Guard rendering full military honors at veteran funerals. Jim also served his community by acting as a coach, umpire, and groundskeeper for Upper Moreland Little League.

Rally Point: WCNC, 830 Highland Avenue, Newtown Pa.,
Rally Time: 11:00 am

Note: Rally again at 1:30 pm for 2pm service - Military Honors will be performed in honor of those Veterans interred/inurned in the month of February who had no one attending their service and any whose unclaimed cremains are presented by county coroners.
