I have never spoken to a mission requester so thankful for what WWR does.

"Hello, I know this may sound odd, but my brother, Chief Glenn E. Marshall Jr. A retired Navy lifer passed away on 8/27. He struggled the last years of his life but his passion and service to our country never faltered. His services are set for 9/22 and I was wondering if there may be any vets who may want to come pay respects. He didn’t have many buddies left from his time in the military. There only a few family and it’s crushing my heart to know that there won’t be many in attendance. I know this is a long shot but he served in Desert Storm and was a life member of the VFW. My apologies if this isn’t a request I should be sending." (His sister Kim)

It was our privilege to stand in honor of Chief Marshall. The family was truly appreciative. This is why we do what we do - stand in honor and bring comfort.
