Are they Returning from a Deployment/Overseas and Where: yes, South Korea and before that, Japan, was in Afghanistan 2007-2008 for 4 months
How Long have they been gone: he has been abroad for a decade!
Where did they grow up: Pitman, NJ
High School / College: Pitman High School
Do they have siblings: Brothers, Sisters, yes! Sisters Teresa and Billie and Bobbie, and step siblings Joey, Daniel, Becky, and Emily

Hobbies, what does our hero enjoy in their spare time: he makes awards for fellow serviceman from reclaimed materials, also does some gardening and growing of indoor plants. See photos. Also is a loving family man!
Derek is active-duty Air Force Technical Sergeant (TSgt). August will make 18 years of service. Derek is married to Jieun Yun since December 5, 2015. Leona is our youngest at 3 years old with her older brother Jaxon who is 14 and our newest addition will be a boy coming in May. Their beloved puppy Jake is a half sized Shiba-Inu which is 7 and they adopted him while they were in Okinawa JP. Derek has been stationed in the following locations: NC, AZ, South Korea (three tours), Okinawa JP (6 years) (not in this order). Derek is now stationed in Levittown PA as an AF recruiter. Derek has also done temporary duties in the following locations: a deployment to Bagram Afghanistan (also went to Kandahar during this deployment)
