In May 2019 this was one of our missions: "Stan Friday, a 96 year old World War II veteran Scout for the 80th Infantry Division, 165 days in constant combat, will be traveling from his home in Pennsburg to the Philadelphia International Airport to join 13 other World War II veterans from around the country to go back for the 75th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy France. Stan will be one of five American World War II veterans that will receive the French Legion of Honor medal on June 6. The medal will be presented to him by President Macron of France"
Mr. Friday was front and center on TV coverage of Normandy. It was stated, at that time, he still split his own firewood!
I'm sure going to try to make this one! What an honor!!!
