6/26 Memorial Ride for P/O Casey Kandel SANCTIONED MISSION Three 6 Nine LE MC is organizing a ride for a Philly officer who passed following a tragic motorcycle accident. Last month, Off-duty Philadelphia Police Officer Casey Kandel was struck by a vehicle while he was riding his motorcycle in Northeast Philly. The collision left Casey fighting for his life in the ICU for the next 3 weeks until June 10th, when he succumbed to his injuries. The young officer’s organs were donated, and will help give the gift of life to others in need. Officer Kandel was scheduled to receive an award for saving the life of a child on Christmas Day in 2020. A father in distress flagged down the officer while he was on patrol in the 17th District and told him that his 4-year old daughter stopped breathing. Casey tirelessly performed CPR, giving compressions and rescue breaths on the unresponsive child until a pulse was restored. She made a full recovery due to his efforts. This lifesaving award would have been his first commendation. Casey was also on the list to be promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the fall. Officer Kandel was 32-years old. There will be a Candlelight Vigil in memory of this hero's 33rd birthday. Rally Point: FOP, 11630 Caroline Road, Phila.
