We've been asked by Middletown P.D to supply a flag line for one of their own. Mark was a big supporter of WWR and was always there to help with escorts. Let's get out there to show support and respects to a true Patriot!
Mark J. Wert Sr. passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the age of 67.
Born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Barbara (Barder) and Lamar L. Wert, Mark has been a long time resident of Lower Bucks County.
He served proudly in the US Air Force. He then began a long career in law enforcement with the Middletown Township Police Department, where he served for 34 years. He was a proud member of the Middletown Township Police Department Honor Guard, which he formed. Mark was a true patriotic person in every sense of the word.
He loved building models and was an avid motor sports fan.
His family and grand kids were his pride and joy.
Beloved husband of 47 years to Donna (Riley), he was the loving father of Mark (Kim), Brian (Colleen) and Timothy (Kristi) Wert; and the devoted grandfather of Abigail, Riley, Dalton, Hailey, Hannah, Aubrey, Gavin and Connor.
He was the dear brother of the late Lamar Wert and Marion Barron (Matt); son-in-law of the late George and Dorothy Riley; and brother-in-law of Dorothy Lavertu and Edward Riley (Ann).
He will also be sadly missed by his extended family, including his emergency service family.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Friends may also call on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 10 until 11:30 am at Our Lady of Grace Church, 225 S. Bellevue Avenue, Penndel, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am. The Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Shop With A Cop" c/o Middletown Community Foundation with "SWAC" in the memo and send to PO Box 1128, Langhorne, PA 19047 or c/o Middletown Police Department, Attn: Officer Missy Robison, 5 Municipal Way, Langhorne, PA 19047.
Date of Mission Dec 09, 2021
Time of Mission 3:00 PM
Location James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown
