Anthony “Tony” Baldorossi of Burlington passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his dedicated family at the age of 100. He was the loving and devoted husband to his late wife who he adored, Ann M. (Nee: Yamond) Baldorossi, who passed away in 2018. He leaves to cherish his memory their children: Anthony Baldorossi, Jr. of Burlington, Diane DiMidio (Dante) of Yardley, PA and Joanne McCann (Edward) of Palmyra; grandchildren Michelle Smith (Shawn) of Palmyra and Dante DiMidio of Yardley; great-granddaughter Charlotte Ann Smith. Tony, a self-taught carpenter, built his home in 1953 mere feet from where he was born on the land he helped to farm as a young boy with his father, an Italian immigrant. Tony graduated from Wilbur Watts High School in 1939 and served his country in the United States Army Air Force during World War II as a mechanic on Ascension Island, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Upon discharge in 1946, he was employed at John A. Roebling’s Sons Company, later Colorado Fuel and Iron, producing wire roping and steel until the steel mill’s closure. He expanded his career as a carpenter for the City of Burlington, with his shining achievement being his work on the bandstand at the Riverfront Promenade. Tony was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s R.C. Church and volunteered his time with the Knights of Columbus. Tony was known for pulling the unsuspecting person into one of his many stories, resulting in roaring laughter as he got to the final punchline. With his beautiful vegetable and flower gardens, his library of music, his love of dancing and playing the piano, his family and friends, Tony felt he possessed all that was needed in life. Compassion, faith, humility and love were the tools of his trade. He was preceded in death by his parents Angelo and Giacinta Baldorossi; brothers Kenneth, Frank, Raymond and Albert; sisters Mary Onori, Lorraine Wolon, Stella Conseglio, Irene Conda and Bernice Cipoletti. He is survived by sister-in-law Blanche Baldorossi, many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to his loving caregivers Maria Willitts, Tammy Zarzecki and Filomena Arronenzi and Samaritan Hospice Nurse Amy Cardis and Aide Jovi Lozano. The family invites friends to his walk-through viewing at Page Funeral Home, 302 E. Union Street, Burlington, on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. A viewing will be held in St. Paul’s RC Church, 223 E. Union Street, Burlington, on Thursday from 9:15-10:15 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial starting at 10:30 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
