SNJ 6/12 Send-Off Julian Vecchio (USMC.) Rally: WAWA 765 US-40 Elmer Rally Time: 1630 KSU:1650 Julian Vecchio has been a resident of Williamstown NJ his entire life. His family maintains deep roots in the community. Julian was 3 yrs old and was very curious about the military. By age 6 he begged to join Cub Scout Pack 161 in Williamstown. By 4th grade he was reading on a college level. He would bring home books about his country, 911, Iraq, and the presidents. At age 11 he decided he would accomplish the rank of Eagle Scout, and six day shy of his sixteenth birthday that’s exactly what he did. Julian has logged over 61 service hours, camped more then 106 nights, hiked over 41 miles, back packed, biked and paddled well over 50 miles through his scouting career. He has spent weekends at Annapolis Naval Academy as well as West Point. He has attended State Police camporees. Year after year he has visited cemeteries and placed flags or wreaths to honor those who have served. He has been a member of the Young Marines and the Civil Air Patrol. His great grandfather served in the Navy. His grandfathers served in the Air Force and Navy. He will enter basic training on June 28, 2021 and will advance his first rank for his Eagle Scout accomplishment. |
