***HONOR MISSION*** Charles Edward Smeeton, 79, USAF, Vietnam, 1963-1966 Springfield, MO Friday 14 May 21
The daughter of hero Charles E. Smeeton has honored the Warriors’ Watch Riders with a request to escort, and carry the cremains of her beloved father, into the hallowed grounds of the Springfield National Cemetery at 1702 East Seminole at Glenstone, Springfield, MO. We will stand a flag line at the National Cemetery while full military honors are presented followed by a short service conducted by our own Steve Simko.
Hero Smeeton achieved the rank of Airman First Class and served as a Fire Protection Specialist. After his service, hero Smeeton moved to Springfield, MO where he attended college at Evangel University, then met his future wife, married and had three children. His daughter and grandson were proudly recruited into the USN by our very own WWR Shawn Dery, currently a retired Navy recruiter. Our hero’s daughter is still on active duty in the USN and will ride on one of our motorcycles as she proudly carries her fathers’ cremains into his final resting place.
