US Navy, SO-2, 1950 – 1954, Korea

The family of USN veteran, Fred Albert Bogart, (SO-2) has honored the Warriors’ Watch Riders with a request for a flag line, final salute, and escort from the Greenlawn North Funeral Home to his final resting place at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens and stand a flag line where full military honors will be rendered.
Hero Bogart served honorably and faithfully in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He enlisted on October 25, 1950, served mainly on the USS Bradford, a Fletcher class destroyer and rose to the rank of Sonarman Petty Officer 2nd Class. His awards included the Navy Good Conduct Medal, United States Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the China Service Medal. He was discharged August 13, 1954 and of his 3 years 10 months service, 2 years 11 months were sea duty.
Hero Bogart was born January 30, 1930 in Mansfield, MO and died May 2, 2021. He is survived by his wife Loretta of 65 years and a daughter Cynthia Lea and son in law Frank. He enjoyed his family, playing cards and talking about old cars.
Following his service to our country he graduated from MSU then worked at the Federal Medical Center for 20 years.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2:00 pm, Thu 6 May 21, Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3506 N National Ave., Springfield, MO 65803. (Just north of the funeral home)
WEATHER FORECAST: 63 deg., winds at 11 mph, and 10% chance of precipitation.
As always, cages are welcome, and this opportunity carries an invitation to the Patriot Guard and other riders to join us who have a heart to honor our military veterans, LEO, and first-responders.
