SEPA 5/4 H/M Marine LCpl. John Deluisi, Vietnam Era
Warrior' Watch has been asked to stand a flag line at Washington's Crossing for this Marine.
John Edward Deluisi, 70, passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with leukemia.
John, is survived by his wife, Nancy McLay Deluisi, children John, Tina, and Jill, and grandchildren Jack, Gabi, Emily, James, Olivia, Vincent, Marcus and Nolan.
A native of Philadelphia and North Catholic alumnus, Lance Cpl. John was a proud Marine and Vietnam War veteran. Following his military service, he served 26 years as a Philadelphia firefighter where he retired as a Lieutenant. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting with his friends and was a dedicated wine enthusiast. In retirement, he was a beloved VIP at Twistie's Bar in Strathmere, NJ, a favorite haunt not far from his home in Ocean City, where he retired with his soon to be sainted wife Nancy. Though a pie maker extraordinaire, he was arguably best known for his famous crabs & spaghetti. Those lucky enough to score a coveted invitation to a feast at the Deluisis never forgot the scrumptious food, or the boisterous stories and laughs that were defining elements of every meal at John's table.
Wherever or whomever he was with, his storytelling skills made him a man of legendary status. John could make ANYONE smile or laugh. While his family's hearts are broken, they are grateful that John's suffering is over. John's zest for life and boundless generosity of spirit will be missed by all whose lives he touched. He will live forever in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him, and in the countless wonderful stories and memories that his children, grandchildren, and future great-grandchildren will share for many years to come.
