James Patrick Clary, 59, US Army, USAR, PFC, 1981-1987 Springfield, MO Mon 5 Apr 21 The family of US Army PFC James Patrick Clary has honored the Warriors’ Watch Riders with a request for a final salute and escort from the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home to his final resting place at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery and stand a flag line where full military honors will be rendered. Hero Clary entered the United States Army in April 1981 and served proudly and honorably until his discharge in April 1983. He achieved the rank of PFC and earned the expert level with the M-16 rifle as well as proficiency with hand grenade weaponry. He was assigned to the A Battery, 2nd Battalion, 75th Field Artillery as a Cannon Crewman. He was last stationed at Ft. Dix, NJ, but of his two years active duty, a year and 8 months were overseas, and he received the Overseas Service Ribbon. He then served in reserve status until April 1987. His military record did not list his awards and citations. Hero Clary, from Long Lane, Mo, was born February 11, 1962, and died March 20, 2021.
