SNJ 4/3B H/M Commander Samuel T. Scaffo (US. Navy) Rally: Gleason's Place 1973 Clayton Williamstown Rd, Franklinville Rally Time: 1430 KSU: 1500 The family will be having a celebration of life at their home and requested us to do a drive-by in Honor of US. Navy Commander Samuel T. Scaffo Commander Samuel T. Scaffo is a native of Elk Township. Sam was born January 7,1965. He left this earth on March 29th 2021. Sam graduated from Delsea Regional School in 1983.He received his commission at the Naval Academy in 1988 where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in General Engineering. He was designated a Naval Aviator in 1989. His first tour of duty was with patrol squadron VP-45 in Jacksonville Fl. In January of 2006,Commander Scaffo served as the Executive Officer for Fleet Logistics support Squadron VR-64. His personal decorations include The Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal Naval and Marine Achievement Medal Numerous Unit and Campaign award Sam retired from service in Norfolk Va. in 2009 and lived with his family in Portland Oregon. In recent years, he returned to his hometown in New Jersey to spend time with his parents and siblings. Sadly Commander Scaffo was recently predeceased by his beloved brother Joe, and is survived by his wife Mary, his sons, Nicholas and Marcus, his parents, Bonnie and Sam, his brothers, Tim, and Mike and loving Nieces and nephews. Among many other things Commander Scaffo will be remembered for his love of family, his sense of humor, and his thirst for knowledge. |
