James V. Heise, Jr.
February 3, 1966 - February 17, 2021
Surrounded by love and his family, James “Jimmy” Heise, Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 55 on February 17th, 2021 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

Born and raised in Collingswood, NJ and 22 year resident of Mantua, NJ. Jim is the beloved and cherished son of Betty (Whiting) McKeown and the late Harry Mckeown. Beloved husband of 21 years to Cheryl (Guckes) Heise. Admired father to his children Amanda Heise, Jimmy Heise, Jake Heise, and Joey Heise. Cherished brother of Daniel Heise (Kristan), Tracey Cannon (Joe), Jennifer Hiltner (Jason), Jessica McKeown, Steven McKeown (Diane), and Christopher McKeown. Jim is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jimmy graduated from Collingswood High School, Class of 1985. He then went on to proudly serve his country with the U.S Army in Desert Storm. During his years of service, Jim was able to visit Berlin when the Wall came down, ski in Switzerland, visit Lake Geneva, and swim in the Mediterranean while visiting Nice and Monte-Carlo.

Jim later worked as a Corrections Officer at Trenton State Prison and South Woods State Prison in Bridgeton, NJ where he retired in 2019 after 26 years of service. During his time in corrections, Jim held the position of Executive Vice President for NJ’s largest police union, PBA Local #105, where he was able to support many of his beloved brothers and sisters in blue.

Jim was also a member of the VFW Post #3324 in Runnemede and spent most of his life coaching youth sports. He was a favorite coach and second dad to so many in his community. Those who know Jim know that he was truly one of a kind. He had a heart of gold and his legacy on this Earth will live on forever.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Jimmy’s visitation on Sunday, February 28th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and again on Monday, March 1st from 10:30 to 11:30 am at Saint Mary’s R.C.
