Dear Pleasanton Military Families,

We are still winding down from the past weekend's events. We had such a memorable weekend for our family, starting with Saturday we hosted a party for our oldest daughter, Kendra for her h.s. graduation party and finished with Sunday's awesome event for Kyle's homecoming as well as hosting a memorable time of fun on Monday with our Gold Star Family friends "The Stacks". Due to the Bart strike we ended up nixing our day in Sf wtih the Stack family and had a fun day of hanging out at our home and the pool.

What a memorable experience this has been for our family. Even more fun since we recently have been given the honor of working with helping out in planning homecomings for other families and their loved ones. We always get to experience that other side of the coin in regards to organizing one and this time we were on the other side of the experience for our own son. I even tricked Kyle into wearing his Marine Bravo uniform by telling him it was my bday present just to have him dress in those Bravo's for me and told him maybe we would get a better seat in the restaurant..lol, he bought that line good! Spike even told Kyle at the restaurant...how pretty he looked, lol. He mumbled to everyone...I did it for my mom!

It was so fun to watch our son, Kyle , first get surprised by the Stack family who traveled all the way from Chicago just to support him and then he was shocked again with a double whammy as the WWR showed up at the First St. Alehouse in Livermore. To experience his expressions of disbelief two times was thrilling for us as well as for him! He was certainly shocked both times! He was so engrossed into the story he was telling the Stacks about one of the memories of their son that he was clueless that the WWR had surrounded him and that Spike was leaning over him...it was priceless!

When we rolled into our housing complex and saw the amount of love and support that showed up for our family was tear dropping for us. The flags that lined the street done by Bryan Weldon from the Diablo Flag Brigade and our home decorated by the set up team of Al Wiggins and Eric Pearson was beautiful! Our PMF is so awesome and I honestly don't know of any organization around our Bay Area or abroad that does homecomings the way our PMF does!

Special thanks to Dorothy Pearson for organizing and overseeing all the details of our homecoming, Spike and WWR who surprised and escorted Kyle back home, Kim Beatty who M.C'd the event...bravo Kim for keeping Kyle from running away ...lol, Sherry Wiggins for dashing about snapping pictures of the day's event while keeping cool in the hot heat, Scott Woodfeldt for doing such a great job on video, and to our fearless leader, Pat Frizzell along with Sherry who put together the beautiful shadow box of challenge coins and letter plus the Gold Star plaque to our Gold Star Stack Family. Each one of you along with all the loving families who came to support Kyle and our two families made this day one that we will never forget. Kyle was extremely touched by all the out pouring of support from all the organizations that came to honor him with their presentations as well as the individuals who came. When the day was over he smiled and said, "Thanks mom/dad and to the PMF" for this day it was a great weekend of fun and then he said, "Ugh mom are you doing this again?" I said, "Oh yeah we do this every year until you finish your service" his response Thanks, but once was enough...lol. Gotta love our Marines they hate the limelight.

On behalf of The Stack family they were extremely touched by all the love that was given to them and their late son, LCpl James B. Stack. They kept telling us the next day how wonderful the homecoming and experience was for them to attend. They were so happy that they came out for the homecoming!! They are such humble people who didn't want any of the limelight on themselves and expressed it to be on our son only, so they were surprised by the out pouring of love that was given to their family. She kept telling me.."Sandy, I'm going get back at you!" I told her that's what our PMF is all about an extended family of support and love for all.

Thank you again PMF for the fantastic homecoming for Kyle , it has been an honor for our family to be a part of such an awesome group!!

All our Love and Semper Fi
The Fujino Family...Dave, Sandy, Kyle, Kendra and Keia
