Ride Report posted for Kypt

Two heroes for the price of one!  Who doesn’t love the twofer?  On Saturday we gathered at the Bowmansville Service Plaza near Exit 286 on the PA Turnpike to welcome home Dana, the daughter of our own Bobby and Jane, and her husband, Robert.  Both are stationed in Ft. Lewis, Washington and have many years of service as Army Psych Therapists between them.

Dana and Robert made the long trek across the country in their van along with their four boys (Skylar, Tritan, Fischer, and Avery) and child #5 (name and sex TBD).  We were waiting for them.  Over 30 bikes, a couple cages, and a ton of people came out to show their support.

When our heroes arrived they drove through our flag column and were immediately mobbed as they exited their vehicle.  Much hugging ensued.  Mom, Dad, and Daughter had an emotional reunion.  A group from the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, on their way home to NJ from a Habitat for Humanity event, joined in the festivities.  You never know who might join in these service plaza missions.  Dana and Robert received their WW coins along with a “thank you” for their service to this great nation.  After this, we were on our way to King of Prussia.

We cruised down the PA Turnpike at a leisurely 50MPH, flags flapping in the breeze, receiving honks and waves from supporters along the way.  We exited the Turnpike and were greeted by the Upper Merion PD who provided us with an escort for the last leg of the journey.  It would have been almost impossible to make our way through the King of Prussia Mall area without them.  Waiting for us at our destination was the King of Prussia FD, friends and neighbors, and a group from A Hero’s Welcome.  A huge flag hanging from one of the fire trucks flew over the road.  We posed for a group photo as another great mission came to a close.

Thanks to all who participated, especially HOG riders of Valley Forge, Friends of the Forgotten, A Hero’s Welcome, Upper Merion PD, King of Prussia FD, the PA State Police (they couldn’t make it but we love them anyway), and the Presbyterian Church of Toms River.

Welcome home Dana and Robert!!!
