On March 9, 2014 the Warriors Watch Riders had the honor of welcoming another hero home from Afghanistan.  Sgt Eric Jarvis knew his mom planned a party for him but little did he know about the special guests that she invited.

We rolled up on Sgt Jarvis’ home with Millville PD’s sirens blaring and a couple dozen bikes beeping their horns.  Sgt. Jarvis knew something was up at that point and came out of the house with his family to the claps and cheers of his new found biker buddies.  After everyone personally welcomed Sgt Jarvis home and thanked him for his service, he was asked if he would like to ride on one of the bikes to his party.  He jumped at the chance and was saddled up.

When we arrived early at the American Legion in Millville, Operation Yellow Ribbon was waiting for us with flags waving.  Sgt Jarvis was obviously overwhelmed by the support from everyone.  Sgt Jarvis was presented with his “cape” and yellow ribbons.

The ceremony was carried inside where the Millville HS choir and jazz band performed an amazing rendition of our National Anthem.  Mayor Michael Santiago then emceed the ceremony.  This was his first one since he became mayor and he did an outstanding job.  Sgt Jarvis received proclamations from Congressman Frank LoBiondo’s office, Senator Jeff Van Drew, Assemblyman Bob Andrzejczak and Cumberland County clerk Gloria Noto.  He then received honor coins from both the Buffalo Soldiers of South Jersey and Warriors Watch.

Sgt Jarvis then spoke and was extremely overwhelmed and very humble.  He honored those who served before him and those friends that are still overseas.
