Ride Report for Ride Captain LeeW
We had the pleasure of meeting another Hero this past Tuesday morning. It was so heartwarming to see so many Fire Departments come out to support our returning soldier Spec James Clendening.  Center Square FD raised their huge American Flag using their ladder truck at the entrance to our local shopping center, several surrounding counties had plenty of equipment and volunteers on hand, Warriors Watch and A Heros Welcome also had a substantial showing for it being a work day. The mamager Jim, from the Superfresh store came out with a cart of cold water for everyone and thanked us for what we do. We lined up along the treed entrance to the shopping center and cheered our Hero as his family caravan slowed into the parking lot. We met the whole family,  said our hellos and then informed James that there was much more to come ……he was surprised to learn he was about to have a major escort to his home in Skippack. We mounted up and headed up rt 73 with lots of sirens and lights. Mark from channel 6 news got some good footage , so James has a lifelong memory of his special event. Upon our arrival at the family home, I presented our Honor coin to James and Tom from A Heros Welcome presented their certificate. We took our usual group photo and said our farewells. and left the family to enjoy their Son. I got a nice Thankyou email from the Dad for honoring James and I will post it in the archives for everyone to read. Thankyou to all who helped make this a success, especially those behind the scenes who make the countless contacts to all the necessary departments.
Respectfully submitted, Lee W
