Ride Report for Ride Captain Spike
This was a two-part mission, the first was at the airport for the
a.m. Flight , the second part was later on in the evening for a
community welcome home celebration.Nick has been stationed
onboard the USS Harry S. Truman , out in the Gulf, and while
at sea,his son was born. Nick did not meet his son until he was
5 months old.So , our first task was to meet nick at SFO and
escort him home.We headed to the airport with a very large
Limo , we got to the Check-point and waited with his Mom
Annette. We saw him walking towards us,and the tears started
rolling from mom.She grabbed him up and started to hug him to
death.LOL,He then held his son like crazy. We mugged and hugged
him too,we got his gear and headed to the Limo.We escorted nick
and his family out to Discovery Bay,once at the house,we chatted a
few minutes and split.Later on in the evening the family took Nick
to Dinner at a local Eatery in Disco Bay. We staged down the Street,
and while at dinner folks from Operation Welcome Home were at the
house decorating it up. We then snuck up to the restaurant and surprised
nick inside. The look on his face when he saw us again. He never knew
what hit him.So, we grabbed him up again in the Limo, cruised down the
main drag, lots of folks stood on the street waving and yelling.Fd was with us
as well as PD.We got to the house, where there were alot of folks waiting.
Nick was presented coins, flags and certificates, what a very cool night it
was. Nick was speechless.Welcome Home Nick.GO NAVY BABY !!
