Ride Report for Ride Captain Navy Chief (George)
On a chilly Friday evening WWR and AHW gathered at Barren Hill Fire Company to do our famous Mug & Hug on 1st. LT. Joshua Kopsie. Josh is assigned as a Field Artillery Officer to the Army 1st Armored Division, Task Force Bulldog in Afghanistan. He is a 2009 graduate of West Point. Josh was driven to our location by his father Tom.
Once we were done doing the Mug & Hug we loaded Josh and his Father up in an old Buick Electra 225 and headed to his home. Whitemarsh Township Police and the Barren Hill Fire Department took the lead on the escort to his house.
Once we traveled the 4 miles to our hero’s house with people lining the street we arrived to at least 100 people waiting for Josh to arrive. We held a short presentation where we were able to “coin” Josh and Maria presented him with the AHW certificate.
We would like to thank Whitemarsh Township Police, Barren Hill Fire Department and the other 6 or so Fire Departments that took part in helping out this great welcome home.
