Ride Report for Ride Captain Pat(Tamale)

It was our third mission of the day and it happened at 11:59pm.  Warriors Watch Riders, A Heros Welcome, 2nd Brigade MC, NamKnights MC and several innocent bystanders all joined in welcoming home US Army Sgt Jon (Doc) Kromer at Philadelphia International Airport.  A huge crowd was on hand as Doc passed through security wearing his WWR gear.  Doc has a long history with WWR and the turn out of Doc’s family and friends provided one of the loudest welcome homes in recent memory.  Doc was up to speed on WWR missions and he was already talking about meeting up with some members for breakfast before the next mission.  Doc was then mugged and hugged and we moved on to our next phase of the mission.

Unbeknownst to the R/C of this mission, Tamale (me), there was a second welcome home scheduled.  Tamale and Mrs. Tamale (Diane) are moving to the west coast in February and the SEPA WWR membership wanted to welcome home and coin one of their VietNam vets before he left.  The R/C position was handed over to Doc and he coined me for my service to our country and our organization.  A Heros Welcome backed that up with their certificate presentation.  I was more at a loss for words than Doc was.  I am involved with a very sneaky group and I was totally surprised to learn Mrs. Tamale corroborated with them in planning part 2 of this mission.  I will never forget this moment or this group for their support.

Doc’s escort then mounted up and made a short run to a local diner where we all ate and yukked it up til the wee hours of the morning.  Another great mission conducted by WWR and AHW.  A special thanks goes out to Docs’s parents, Bill and Evie for sharing the spotlight with Tamale.

Respectfully Submitted,

Pat (Tamale)
